What to Expect
Outdoor family sessions are relaxed, guided, and fun - even with little ones. We typically shoot during golden hour for the most beautiful natural light, and we help with location selection, outfit guidance, and everything in between. Sessions last approximately one hour and include your whole family, including pets.

We hold photography sessions throughout Lake County and the Northwest Chicago suburbs. We have a collection of favorite scouted locations we love - spots we've chosen specifically because they photograph beautifully, have easy parking, and have low foot traffic.

We shoot year-round. Fall is our most popular season for family portraits, followed by spring and summer. For fall sessions, we recommend booking a few months prior as our fall schedule fills quickly. Weekday appointments are easier to book than weekend appointments.

We provide a complimentary style guide after booking to help coordinate outfits that photograph beautifully together.

After your session, a private gallery will be emailed to you within 5-7 days.

We shoot on sunny, gloomy, and light snow days. We can’t shoot when it’s raining or in very heavy snowfall. If we have to reschedule for weather, we will together find a reschedule day that works for everyone.

We absolutely don't expect kids to be perfect angels - and honestly, some of our favorite images come from the chaotic moments. We have plenty of tricks up our sleeve to keep little ones engaged, laughing, and moving naturally in front of the camera. We keep sessions relaxed and fun, follow the kids' lead, and never force a pose. In our experience, the 'uncooperative' moments often make for the most authentic and memorable photos of all.
