At BK Rose Studio, we specialize in in-home lifestyle newborn photography - coming to you, in the home you've prepared, in the light you live in every day. No packing up a brand new baby, no unfamiliar environment, just your family in your space while we capture it all exactly as it is. We serve families throughout Libertyville, Lake County, and the greater Chicagoland area including Vernon Hills, Mundelein, Lake Forest, Grayslake, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich, Highland Park, and surrounding communities.
Calm, unhurried, baby-led sessions
Our approach is calm, unhurried, and completely baby-led. We photograph your newborn in the details of your home — the nursery you put together, the morning light in your bedroom, the way your older kids lean in to meet their new sibling for the first time. These are the images that will mean the most twenty years from now. Studio sessions are also available at our Libertyville location for families who prefer a more controlled setting
What to Expect
In-home newborn sessions are relaxed from start to finish. We come to you anywhere in Lake County or the Northwest Chicago suburbs, and we work with the natural light in your home. Sessions typically last two to three hours - there's no rushing. We photograph your baby, your family together, siblings, and all the tiny details that make this season so fleeting. Your home doesn't need to be perfectly clean or decorated - it just needs to be yours.

We recommend booking during your second or third trimester. This helps us know when to expect a call from you to schedule the session after baby arrives. Newborn sessions are scheduled around your due date and our calendar fills quickly, especially in spring and fall.

We photograph newborns between 5 and 14 days old for that sleepy, curled-up stage. We can also accommodate slightly older babies — just reach out and we'll talk through timing.

Our preference is to come to you. In-home lifestyle sessions are what we love most - they result in the most natural, meaningful images and are so much easier on a brand new family. Studio sessions are available at our Libertyville location as well for families who prefer that option.

It doesn't need to be. We work with natural light and the real details of your home — a tidy bedroom, a nursery, a cozy corner. You'd be surprised how beautiful everyday spaces look through a camera.

Absolutely. Sibling moments and full family images are some of our favorites and are included in every session.
