This spring, we’re keeping things simple!
Our studio will be styled with a clean, open aesthetic using studio posing blocks and soft light. No busy props. No distractions. Just your family, beautifully photographed.
These sessions are designed to feel effortless and relaxed while still delivering the refined, timeless imagery you love.
During your session, we’ll focus on:

20 minute studio portrait session
A curated gallery of 20 images available for digital download
March 28th and March 29th, limited to 8 families per day
These sessions are offered on select dates only and are designed for families who want updated portraits without committing to a full session.
If you’ve been meaning to update your family photos, this is the perfect time.
INVESTMENT:
Early booking rate of $325 available through March 15th.
After March 15th, the session investment will be $375.
FAQ’S
What if my kids take a long time to warm up? Is 20 minutes long enough?
Totally normal. Truly. Most kids need a few minutes to feel comfortable in a new space. We intentionally build a 10 minute buffer between each session so there’s breathing room if your little one needs extra time. We move quickly, but never in a rushed or stressful way. Our goal is calm, natural connection, not forced smiles.
Mini sessions are designed to be efficient and focused. Because our set is pre-styled and our posing flow is refined, we’re able to move seamlessly from one grouping to the next without wasting time. We focus on intentional, beautiful combinations rather than trying to do everything.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
First, that’s what we’re here for. You do not need perfectly behaved children to get beautiful photos. We photograph real families every single week, and we know how to pivot, redirect, play, and capture connection even in the in-between moments. Some of the best images happen when kids are just being themselves.
What should we wear?
We recommend soft neutrals, light textures, and tones that feel cohesive but not overly matched. Since this is a clean open studio setup, your clothing becomes part of the visual story.
Once you book, we’ll send a detailed styling guide to make this easy and stress-free.
What if someone gets sick?
We understand that life with kids happens. If someone is ill, please reach out as soon as possible and we will move you to another appointment time, no questions asked.
Are these only for families?
These are designed for families, but they are also perfect for updated portraits of siblings only, couples, or even just mom with her babies. If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, just ask.
Is this a “quick and rushed” experience?
Not at all. These are short by design, but never chaotic. The entire session is intentional, calm, and guided. Think efficient and elevated, not rushed.
Booking & Payment Details
Once we receive your request to book an appointment time, we will review it and email you a proposal with session preparation details, a photo agreement for you to sign electronically, and an invoice with details for the deposit and balance due. There is a $100 non-refundable retainer to secure your appointment and the balance is due the day of your session.
Where will the session take place?
Our studio is located in Libertyville, address sent upon confirmed booking.
How long does it take to receive the images?
After your session, a private gallery will be emailed to you within 1 week.
How are images chosen and edited?
We put an incredible amount of care into curating your gallery, and there are no hidden gems left behind. As we sort through each session, we are genuinely excited to share as many beautiful images as possible, carefully selecting photographs that reflect natural expressions, flattering poses, and our highest artistic standards.
A meaningful part of hiring a professional photographer is trusting them to curate a refined, cohesive collection that is fully ready to print and share, and that is exactly what we deliver. Every image in your proof gallery has already been fully edited and thoughtfully retouched, including color correction, lighting refinement, skin smoothing, flyaway removal, subtle teeth whitening, and background clean up to ensure a polished yet natural finish.
We do not deliver RAW or unedited files. Editing is where the final vision truly comes to life, and we take great pride in crafting a timeless, beautifully finished collection that reflects the signature style of BK Rose Studio.
Rescheduling & Cancellation
If you need to reschedule your session, please notify us at least 72 hours or more prior to your session. Rescheduling requests are only allowed one time. Exceptions will only be made in cases of emergency or illness.
How do I print photos the images?

Archiving your images
Your gallery will remain active for 3 months from the date it was emailed to you. We will also keep digital copies of all of your files for 3 months. We highly recommend backing up your images to an external hard drive once you receive them. Please do not just leave them on your computers desktop. Also consider a second backup method, like a cloud storage drive.
